35 Day Date Ideas in Brisbane
Are you looking for fun or unique day-date ideas in Brisbane?
I know that there are plenty of things to do at night in Brisbane, and I have a list of great date ideas and a list of adventurous dates in Brisbane, but what are the best day dates?
Sometimes it is more fun (or just more convenient) to go out on a date during the day.
We find that going on a date during the day eliminates the need for childcare, as the kids are in school.
Whether you are looking for something fun to do with friends or with a partner, here are our favorite day-date activities in Brisbane.

Outdoor Day-Date Ideas
Ride Bikes Along the Riverside

Go for a walk or a bike ride along the Riverwalk.
It’s that easy. Wander into a few places, if you want. We have walked into The Powerhouse in New Farm and enjoyed a meal and a drink along the way.
Kangaroo Point Cliffs

Have an active day date by either climbing up Kangaroo Point Cliffs or abseiling down them.
Both activities include a guide and all the equipment needed. Plus, while you are waiting for your turn, you will see a beautiful view of Brisbane City.
Here are more fun things to do in Kangaroo Point, if you are looking for somewhere to eat or another fun thing to do after your Kangaroo Point Cliffs date.
Go Boat

While it would make a fun group date, Go Boats are also fun for just 2.
Go Boats can be rented by the hour and fit up to 8 guests. Pack a picnic and cruise down the Brisbane River for a while.
Find more things to do in Newstead after your picnic boat ride.
Lunch Cruise
If you would rather have someone else drive the boat, head out on a daytime boat ride along the Brisbane River.
This cruise to lunch at the Breakfast Creek Hotel lasts 3.5 hours and includes morning tea onboard, a cruise on the Brisbane River, and lunch at Breakfast Creek Hotel
Kayak down the Brisbane River
Take a kayaking tour down the Brisbane River. Tours last 1.5 hours and include a guide. All kayaks are single, so you will be in a different kayak from your date.
A short lesson is included in this kayaking tour.
Jet Ski on the Brisbane River
For those looking for an adventurous daytime date, try jet skiing on the Brisbane River.
This jet-skiing tour is about 3 hours long, and no experience is needed. You can fit 2 on each jet-ski, though each person can ride on their own.
Go on a Scavenger Hunt
Explore South Bank on a scavenger hunt.
The Southbank Scavenger Hunt lasts about 2 hours and includes trivia and solving challenges.
While you should probably work as a team during your daytime date, it is possible to play against each other.
Here are some more fun things to do in South Bank.
Catch the Brisbane Burglar

Kind of like an escape room, but outdoors, get a group together, or just your date, and try to catch the Brisbane Burglar.
During this game, you solve puzzles and look for clues to find out who committed the crime.
My family completed this game together, and while we had fun, we didn’t finish in time. This is one game I think would have worked better without the kids, but who knows, we may have lost anyway.

Mystery Picnic

Pick a Brisbane neighborhood to explore and solve clues and puzzles that help you find out where to pick up your picnic lunch on one of Amazing Co’s Mystery Picnics.
We took the family version of the mystery picnic and explored Paddington. You can read more about it here.
Now that we have been to Paddington a few times, we have found the best things to do. If you do decide to take a mystery picnic in Paddington, here is a list of things to see along the way.
Discovery Walk

Go on a Picnic
While several companies in Brisbane will set up a picnic for you, you can also pack your own.
Pick up food from New Farm Deli, Rosalie’s Gourmet Market, Charcuterie and Co., or your favorite shop and head to the nearest park.
If you want to make it fancy, hire someone else to set it up for you.
Free Guided Tours

Brisbane has lots of free guided tours, both indoors and out. Check to see which tour is interesting to you.
You and your date can tour gardens, government buildings, neighborhoods, and museums.
Find Fairy Doors

Plan your own tour to spot fairy doors in Brisbane’s Laneways.
Choose a neighborhood and find the tiny fairy doors located in the laneways. Stop for a meal, drink, or a treat in the laneways too.
Here is our guide for finding fairy doors in Brisbane.
Climb Story Bridge

Did you know that Story Bridge is one of just 5 bridge climbs in the whole world?
Impress your date with gorgeous views of Brisbane and a fun activity by booking a Story Bridge Adventure Climb.
The entire experience takes about 2 hours, and you can choose from various times throughout the day.
