Located along the Brisbane River, Newstead is a neighborhood that has recently undergone a transformation. What was once an industrial area is now a lively part of the city, known for its mix of modern apartments, local cafes, and riverside parks. Visit Newstead Park

Perfect for picnics, Newstead Park has lots of green space, toilets, and picnic tables. Newstead House is located in the park, but there is an entry charge.
Try to find the Alice in Wonderland Tree located in Newstead Park. It is tricky and took me a few visits to Newstead Park before I finally found it!

See what’s on at Gasworks Plaza.

Classes are available for kids and adults and focus on basic chocolate making, caramel, honeycomb, and marshmallows. Kids 16+ can attend the adult classes, and the kids’ classes are generally for those 10-16.
Take a Pottery Class
Mas and Miek Ceramic House offers hand-building and pottery wheel classes and workshops. From beginners to masterclasses, Mas and Miek have classes for just about everyone 15+.
Paint a pot is available for those who want to be creative but do not wish to build their own pottery.

Enjoy a Beer at a Brewery
Range Brewery releases a new craft beer each week. They also serve pizza and snacks.
