Story Bridge Adventure Climb

Anyone over 6 years old and 110cm can participate in the Story Bridge Adventure Climb.
The Bridge Climb is 80 meters above the river, and the entire climb covers about 1 kilometer.
The entire Story Bridge Climb experience takes about 2 hours, including the safety demonstration.
Prices vary, as does the type of climb. From sunrise to sunset, and day climbs as well, you can choose which time works for you. They even have kids climb-free days.
Is the Story Bridge Adventure Climb not adventurous enough for your brave kid?
Kids can even join in on an adventure game, Mission: Skybeam, while climbing Story Bridge. (Temporarily Closed until bridge construction is complete)

Rock Climbing

Kids as young as 8 can go Rock Climbing at Kangaroo Point.
The 2-hour adventure is perfect for those who love to climb. Pinaccle Sports also offers rock climbing at Kangaroo Point Cliffs.
Is indoor rock climbing more your speed? There are plenty of choices for indoor rock climbing with kids in Brisbane. Check out Bounce Hendra, Urban Climb, or Rocksports for rock climbing classes.
Abseil Kangaroo Point

For those, like me, who aren’t quite sure what “abseiling” is, it is the same as “rappelling.” It is going down the rocks vertically.
If rock climbing isn’t daring enough, kids over 8 can try abseiling at Kangaroo Point.
There are multiple abseiling adventures at Kangaroo Point. Kids must be at least 12 years old for the Twilight Abseiling.
Another option for abseiling at Kangaroo Point Cliffs is with Pinnaclle Sports.
My oldest has gone abseiling with both Riverlife and Pinnaclle Sports, while my youngest went with Pinnaclle Sports (as he was too young the first time). Both experiences were great, and the staff was patient and helpful.
Sand Boarding at Moreton Island

Kids as young as 5 can spend the day snorkeling and sandboarding at Moreton Island.
Moreton Island is the 3rd largest sand island in the world. Most of the island is not accessible unless you are in a 4WD, which is included in this tour.
To make snorkeling even more fun, explore the Tangalooma shipwreck near the shore of Moreton Island.
While we have been to Moreton Island, we have yet to go sandboarding there. It is on our list (and has been for quite a while).
Indoor Skydiving

Did you ever think you could go skydiving as a family with kids as young as 3?
iFLY indoor skydiving offers family packages so the whole family can be adventurous together.
If you aren’t a daredevil like your kids, parents are welcome to watch. That is what I did!
iFly is located at the Chermside Shopping Center.
Indoor Skiing

Skiing in Brisbane? Yes, it is true! Kids as young as 4 can attend ski school at Bounce Hendra.
Prepare for a ski trip, or just learn a new skill at Urban Xtreme.
Urban Xtreme has a few different areas that include trampolines, a ninja course, rock wall climbing, and laser tag, in addition to the indoor ski school.
Jungle Adventure Play

An indoor playground like you have never seen before, Jungle Adventure Play has something for kids of all ages.
Jungle Adventure Play has more than 20 obstacles and more than 20 climbing walls.
Tickets are purchased by age/time and include activities for 2 to 12+.
Jungle Adventure Play has ninja courses, a high ropes course, and a “jungle jump” you can jump on from 3 different platforms.
They also offer term-long courses for those who want to learn new skills at Jungle Adventure Play.
Flipside Circus
Have you, or your child, ever wanted to learn circus tricks?
Kids as young as 18 months old can take a class at Flipside Circus in Hamilton. They even offer a free trial class.
Flipside Circus has classes and workshops for all ages and abilities.
Their “Taste of the Circus” class is for children ages 6-12. Other classes include aerials, juggling, and tumbling.
Adult classes and workshops are available.
Adventure Ranger Camp
Looking for a very active and adventurous camp during the school holidays?
Adventure Ranger Camp takes kids 8+ on all-day outdoor adventures.
Days at Adventure Ranger Camp include kayaking on the river, abseiling, and rock climbing at Kangaroo Point Cliffs.
Ziplining

You need to drive about an hour outside of Brisbane, but I promise it is worth it.
Treetop Adventures offers high rope and ziplining junior courses for kids as young as 3.
Head north to the Big Pineapple on the Sunshine Coast or south to Tamborine Mountain. We have been to both locations and highly recommend Treetop Adventures Junior Courses.
Kids 8+ can participate in the regular ziplining courses, which my kids did at Tamborine Mountain.
Vertigo Dining
A new restaurant opened up on the top of the Powerhouse in New Farm.
Diners sit on the edge of the building as they enjoy a 3-course meal at Vertigo. At the end of the meal, you have the option to head down the regular way or rappel down for an additional fee.
Kids need to be at least 10 years old to dine at Vertigo. They also must be at least 25 kilos and more than 110 centimeters tall.
