I have learned the hard way that to relax in a restaurant with my kids, there needs to be something for them to do!
I have never been the mom who remembers to bring a bag full of tricks, so it is helpful for the places we visit to have kid-friendly entertainment.
Lucky for us, there are a bunch of kid-friendly restaurants in and around Brisbane.
This list of kid-friendly restaurants, cafes, and pubs does not focus on kid-centered play areas, but rather regular establishments for adults that also include a place for the kids to play.
All the restaurants on this list are within 30 minutes of Brisbane City.

Northside Kid-Friendly Cafes, Restaurants, and Pubs
Victoria Park Bistro, Herston

Whether your plans include Putt-Putt or just a meal, Victoria Park Bistro is perfect for families.
Go soon, they close their doors in May 2026, unfortunately.
With incredible views of Brisbane City, just a 10-minute drive from Brisbane CBD, Victoria Park Bistro has a playground and giant games for children.
Breakfast at Victoria Park Bistro averages $15, and kids’ meals cost $12. Lunch and dinner are on the same menu, ranging from $18 to $34. Kids’ meals are $14 during lunch and dinner. A smaller menu is available for lunch and dinner on Mondays and Tuesdays.
It is free to play at Victoria Park Bistro, though there is a charge for putt-putt. Parking is also free, in a large attached lot.
Victoria Park Bistro is pram-friendly, but not dog-friendly.
Bookings are available, and they have function spaces with catering menus, including for birthday parties.

Felons Brewing Company, Brisbane City

Another restaurant with gorgeous city views is Felons Brewing Company at Howard Smith Wharves under the Story Bridge.
Seating is available both inside and out, with a playground outside.
Burgers, pizza, salads, and bowls average $25. Steak, oysters, and charcuterie platters are also available. Kids’ meals cost $12.
Vegan and gluten-free options are available. Felons have a separate dietary menu.
Of course, there are plenty of beer options at Felons Brewing Company, but they also have cocktails and wine.
Felons Brewery is open daily for lunch and dinner. You can park on the street or at the Howard Smith Wharf’s Car Park.
It is free to play on the playground at Felon’s.
Bookings are available for 2+ from Monday to Thursday and for 8+ from Friday to Sunday.
Felons is both pram-friendly and dog-friendly.
Almost every Sunday is Family Fun Day at Felons. Kids eat free and there are arcade games, face painting, and balloon animals from 11 am-3 pm.

Dirty Harry’s Bar and Grill, Bowen Hills

My kids spent hours playing at the free arcade games, the dart board, and the pool tables at Dirty Harry’s in Bowen Hills, and I don’t have one single picture of them because I was in a meeting.
Sure, it was a low-key meeting, but the kids were so happy with the games that I barely even knew they were there.
Dirty Harry’s is located by the showgrounds in Bowen Hills. The location has been turned over more times than I can count, but we are hoping that the $10 kids’ meals and free games keep this place open for a while!
If you have tweens and teens, this is the perfect spot if you are looking to keep them occupied while waiting for their dinner to arrive.
Dirty Harry’s is open daily for lunch and dinner. There is street parking nearby, and a parking garage off King Street.
VEND Marketplace Cafe, Virginia

Just 20 minutes north of the Brisbane CBD is VEND Marketplace, Virginia. There is also a VEND southside in Annerly, just 10 minutes south of the CBD.
VEND marketplace is a group of individual shops, each a small business. The idea is to shop them all at once and make a purchase of all the items just once.
VEND also has a cafe with both indoor and outdoor seating and a playground.
The cafe at VEND is open from 8 am-4 pm daily and offers breakfast all day and lunch options as well. Coffee, juices, smoothies, beer, and wine are also available.
Adult meals average $20, kids’ meals average $10.
Vegetarian, Vegan, and Gluten-free items are available.
VEND also offers a variety of classes, workshops, and special events. Many of the special events are child-friendly, and there are mum and bub classes, such as yoga.
It is free to play on the playground at VEND. Note that this playground is geared towards younger kids.
Parking is free and available in a large car park attached to the location.
VEND is dog-friendly in the marketplace and in the outdoor seating area, but not in the indoor seating area.
Table 26, Chermside
With an enclosed play area for kids and pet-friendly dining on the patio, Table 26 is a kid-friendly restaurant at Westfield Chermside.
Table 26 has both indoor and outdoor dining, and the kids’ play area is gated.
Mains at Table 26 range from $13 to $25, and kids’ meals are $9 to $11. Vegan and gluten-free options are available.
Table 26 also has a menu for dogs with treats that range from $4 to $10.
They are open for breakfast and lunch daily. Parking is available for free for 2 hours in the parking garage. Westfield members can park for free for 4 hours each day.
Everton Park Hotel, Everton Park
Hotel pubs are popular in Australia for a reason, and they are made even better when they add a playground.
Everton Park Hotel is not just a regular pub and sports bar. They boast a million-dollar children’s play area complete with a carousel.
For older kids, there is a movie room and a PlayStation room.
Kids 12 and under eat free on Mondays with an adult meal purchase. Family meals are available for $49 on Wednesdays.
Main dishes range from $18-42 and kids’ meals cost $10 and include a drink and ice cream.
Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free items are available.
Everton Park Hotel is open for lunch and dinner daily. It is always free for kids to play, as long as they are eating at the restaurant.
Children’s birthday parties can be held at Everton Park Hotel with a minimum of 10 children.
There is limited parking, though they do recommend parking nearby at the Westfield Shopping Centre.
Everton Park Hotel is dog-friendly outdoors only.

Huskk, Grange
Huskk Cafe has a small play area for kids, but that is enough to keep our kids busy until the food arrives.
Located in Grange, less than 15 minutes from Brisbane CBD, Huskk is a modern, kid-friendly cafe.
Huskk is open for breakfast and lunch and has one all-day menu. Adult meals are $10-22, and kids’ meals are $7.50-11.
Street parking is available. Huskk is dog-friendly.
Chapter IV, Paddington
Located in Paddington, Chapter IV is a kid-friendly cafe with beautiful Brisbane views.
Breakfast is served all day, which is always a hit with my kids. Chapter IV is open for breakfast and lunch daily.
Meals range from $12-26, and there are always plenty of delicious cakes and pastries available. Coffee, juice, and milkshakes are available as well.
Chapter IV has an enclosed kids’ playroom with lots of toys that are geared toward younger kids.
Street parking is available.
Dogs are welcome outside.
Morning Kiss, New Farm
Across the street from New Farm State School is a small cafe that serves breakfast, lunch, and coffee. While the front of the cafe is small, it opens up in the back, and there is both indoor and outdoor seating.
While there is not a large place for kids to play, Morning Kiss (formerly Talking Toucan) has a dedicated kids’ play zone.
There is street parking on James Street or on the side streets in New Farm.
Morning Kiss is dog-friendly.
Full Moon Hotel, Sandgate
The Treehouse is open at the Full Moon Hotel, and it is a fun indoor play space for kids. With a swing and a vegetable garden, the Treehouse is based on a backyard.
Kids’ meals are $9-12 at Full Moon Hotel.
They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Sundays and just lunch and dinner the rest of the week.
Dogs are welcome to join their families at the tables outside.
Paris Play Cafe, Toowong

Located in Toowong Village, Paris Play Cafe is now open for breakfast and lunch.
With an enclosed area for the kids to play, Paris Play Cafe is a welcome addition to Brisbane.
Kids’ meals are $9-11 at Paris Play Cafe and include items such as pancakes, eggs, burgers, fish and chips, and chicken nuggets. Adult meals range from $13-24.
Parking is available at the lot at Toowong Village.
Home Cafe, Ashgrove
Kids can play in the playroom while they wait for their meals at Home Cafe in Ashgrove, which is open for breakfast and lunch daily. The room is enclosed and for kids only.
All kids’ meals cost $8. Breakfast options include eggs, pancakes, avo toast, corn and zucchini fritters, and a fruit bowl. Lunch options include pizza, toasties, fish and chips, fritters, and baked beans on toast. Cabinet treats are always available.
Adult meals range from $7-$25.
Home Cafe in Ashgrove is about 15 minutes away from Brisbane City.

Netherworld, Fortitude Valley

Hear me out. Netherworld is a restaurant and bar in Fortitude Valley, but if you have kids, go during the day!
Not only does Netherworld have lots of pinball machines and video game options for the kids to play while they wait for their meals, but they also have just about every type of board game you can think of.
All food items at Netherworld can be made vegan, and gluten-free items are available. While there isn’t a kids’ menu, they have plenty of kid-friendly meals, including burgers, hot dogs, and mac & cheese.
Most meals at Netherworld cost $16-19.
If you are worried about Netherworld not being kid-friendly, head over for their Little Monsters event, which takes place on one Sunday a month.
Netherworld is open for lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Sunday. Board games are always free to play, and there is a charge for video games.
Parking is available on the street or in one of the Fortitude Valley parking lots. Netherworld is very close to the Fortitude Valley train station and multiple bus stops.
Albany Creek Tavern
Kids can play on the outdoor playground while their parents sit at picnic tables at the Albany Creek Tavern.
The Albany Creek Tavern also has an indoor playground and Family Fun Days.
Kids’ meals come in 2 or 3 courses for $14-16.

The Hills of Rivermakers, Morningside
There are multiple options for eating at The Hills of Rivermakers, a new family-friendly entertainment destination in Brisbane.
From Friday to Sunday, they have a petting zoo, which you can visit if you pay a fee. There is also a fee to feed the animals.
The indoor playground is geared for younger kids, up to 5 years old, and is open from 8 am until 3 pm daily.
The outdoor playground is open from 8 am until 7 pm daily.
Hills of Rivermakers is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. They have a small parking lot, and there is street parking nearby.
Outside is dog-friendly.
Pan Thai Restaurant, Camp Hill

Located at Camp Hill Bowls Club, Pan Thai Restaurant doesn’t just offer a regular bowls club pub meal.
Camp Hill Bowls Club does not use the area in front of Pan Thai for barefoot bowls after 5 pm (and after 2 pm on Sundays), and instead, the entire area is open for kids to run around and play.
Both indoor and outdoor seating are available.
Vegetarian and gluten-free menu items are available, with mains averaging $18.
Live music and family-friendly events are held most Sunday afternoons.
Pan Thai is open for lunch from Tuesday to Sunday and for dinner from Friday to Sunday.
While it is free to run around and play, there is a $5 per person charge for barefoot bowls.

The Glen Hotel, Eight Mile Plains
Kids can play on the playground or sit at the table and enjoy an activity pack at The Glen Hotel.

Pineapple Hotel, Kangaroo Point
Pineapple Hotel is located in Kangaroo Point and is close to The Gabba. It has a kids’ menu and an enclosed play area with a playground.
There are multiple places to eat and drink at the Pineapple Hotel. Kids’ meals are $12-13 for pizza, chicken tenders, spaghetti, and steak. They offer a $12-15 adult lunch special and $13-19 dinner specials, in addition to the regular menu.
Pineapple Hotel has a parking lot, and there is street parking as well.
Rabbit Hole Cafe, Seven Hills and Wynnum
There are two Rabbit Hole Cafe locations to choose from. Their Seven Hills location is closest to Brisbane City. Both locations have a great play area for kids.
The Seven Hills location has a small playground, suited for toddlers. Wynnum has more items for older kids, especially those who enjoy playing in a toy kitchen.
Kids’ meals are $12-$13 at Rabbit Hole Cafe.
Rabbit Hole Cafe is open for breakfast and lunch. There is street parking.
Cream House Cafe, Sunnybank
Drive 25 minutes south of Brisbane City to find Cream House Cafe, a unique cafe that is open for breakfast and lunch daily and dinner on the weekends.
Cream House Cafe has an indoor playground and toys for kids to play with. They also host kid-friendly workshops.
This cafe also has a robot waitress, which is fun for the kids.
Kids’ meals cost $9-13 and include options of pizza, pasta, chicken wings, and chicken nuggets. Adult meals cost $18-29, with a few family meal options that are more expensive. Drinks include mermaid lattes, pink lattes, and bubble milk.
Coffee n Bricks, Wynnum
Depending on traffic, Coffee n Bricks could take just over 30 minutes to drive to from Brisbane City.
Unlike the other restaurants on this list, Coffee n Bricks is great for older kids who enjoy building with Lego.
This cafe has coffee and treats for customers to enjoy while they build Lego creations.
There is a charge to play at Coffee n Bricks. It costs $12 per half hour or $20 per hour.
Salisbury Hotel, Salisbury
Sometimes, kids eat free at the Salisbury Hotel, and every weekend, they offer $3 kids’ meals.
Parents and older kids can watch sports on the big-screen TVs while the kids play on the playground.
Kids’ meals are $12 and include a drink and an ice cream.
The Salisbury Hotel is open for lunch and dinner daily. They have a parking lot.

Waterloo Bay Hotel
Another option for a family-friendly meal is at the Waterloo Bay Hotel in Wynnum.
Waterloo Bay Hotel has a kids’ playground, and kids eat free on Fridays and for breakfast on Sundays. On Tuesdays, kids’ meals are 2 for $12 while adult meals are 2 for $30.
Browns Plains Hotel
Special events take place at Browns Plains Hotel during the Brisbane school holidays. They have a playground year-round at Browns Plains Hotel, where kids’ meals are $12.
Browns Plains Hotel is open for lunch and dinner daily. They have a parking lot and are pram-friendly.
Newnham Hotel, Mount Gravatt
Newnham Hotel has a fenced-in outdoor playground and free special events during the Brisbane school holidays. Kid-friendly events also take place each Saturday and Sunday.
Plus, kids eat free every Monday! Otherwise, kids’ meals are $12.
The Newnham Hotel is open for lunch and dinner daily. They have a parking lot, and dogs are welcome to join in the fun, as long as they are sitting outside.
Carina Leagues and Club
Playland at Carina Leagues and Club is an indoor play area designed for kids ages 3-12. A parent’s room is attached, and parents can see their children as they play.
Kids must be members to play at Playland (and so must their parents), but that is just $2 each. Three hours of play is $10 per child.
Playland has a climbing wall, movie room, craft area, and arcade.
Carina Leagues is open for lunch and dinner on the weekends and dinner only on weekdays.
Slipstream Brewing Company, Yeerongpilly

Sure, Pinwheel Island Kids’ Cafe is really a kids’ play place, but you can get food as well. Sometimes, it is best to just go where the kids can play!
Pinwheel Island Kids’ Cafe is geared towards kids ages 0-8. They have an indoor playground and lots of toys. Just don’t forget socks!
The cafe at Pinwheel Island serves a variety of sandwiches, hot meals, coffee, and salad. The kids’ menu has a pick 3 (main, sides, drink) for $14.
Pinwheel Island is open for breakfast and lunch daily. There is a parking garage, and the space is pram-friendly.
There is a charge to play, based on age. It ranges from $5-15.
Chipmunks Playland and Cafe, Macgregor + Everton Park
Just down the road from Pinwheel Island is another place for kids to play while their grown-ups enjoy a meal.
Chipmunks Playland and Cafe is a fun place for kids ages 0-11.
The meals at Chipmunks are basic, just pizza, burgers, sandwiches, and nuggets, but let’s be fair, you aren’t here to enjoy the food; you are here for the kids to play.
Chipmunks is open for breakfast and lunch. There is parking in the parking garage.
Expect to pay $15-18 per child, based on age.
Tiddlywinks, Nundah

Tiddlywinks specializes in discos, plus they have an indoor playground.
Parents can sit at the tables by the stage while the kids play.
The cafe at Tiddlywinks serves hot meals, coffee, and healthy items. While you are not allowed to bring in your own food, they do cater to allergies.
Tiddlywinks is open for breakfast and lunch. Private parties can be booked for dinner.
They are pram-friendly, and there is a parking lot attached.

Jungle Adventure Play, Tingalpa

Kids can play on the indoor playground, rock climb, and play mini-golf at Jungle Adventure Play in Tingalpa.
There are even 2 different options for food at Jungle Adventure Play, Base Camp Cafe, and Vine’s Restaurant.
Vine’s Restaurant serves pizza, burgers, salads, and snacks, while the cafe serves coffee, breakfast, and alcohol as well.
Jungle Adventure Play is open for breakfast and lunch.

Brisbane Playgrounds with Coffee Stands
I am sure that every mom has had the thought that all playgrounds should have a coffee shop attached.
Lucky for moms in Brisbane, this exists!

While Southbank Playground doesn’t have a coffee shop attached, there are plenty of quick-service restaurants and coffee available nearby.
While they are not quite what I would consider a cafe, these Brisbane playground coffee stands serve food, and the playgrounds have seating areas where you can sit and watch the kids play, making it completely kid-friendly.
These stands are perfect for moms like me who may not pack enough snacks and whose kids don’t want to leave the playground.
BONUS: Mystery Picnic
My kids love picnics, and they are the perfect kid-friendly meal as they take place outside, where the kids can play while they eat.
We like to take our picnic to the playground or just by the riverside.
My kids aren’t too picky about the food; we could pick up take-out or pack sandwiches, as long as they can play, they are happy.
