Planning a kid’s birthday party can be tricky, but luckily there are plenty of locations in Brisbane that host children’s birthday parties and do the hard work for you!

Every time one of my kid’s birthdays rolls around, I find myself searching for fun and unique places near the Brisbane CBD to host their party. As I keep finding the same ideas over and over again, I recently began contacting various venues in hopes that they too have birthday parties.

Instead of keeping this information to myself, and since my kids love to turn down my great ideas, hopefully, these Brisbane birthday party location ideas will help other families plan a fun and unique birthday party.

Indoor Birthday Party Venues

Whether it is too hot (or cold) outside, or you just want to guarantee it doesn’t rain, there are plenty of options for indoor birthday parties in Brisbane.

This section of Brisbane birthday party ideas for kids is longer than the rest, and you are sure to find the venue you are looking for.

Lush, Brisbane CBD

🗺️ Brisbane City 💲 Starting at $50 per person

Kids as young as 5 can book a birthday party at Lush, the skin care shop in Queens Street Mall. Lush offers 2 options for parties in their shops: Fun and Games or Treat Yourself.

Every party at Lush is 1.5 hours long and includes activities and games, a product-making kit, and a party product for each guest.

Parties at Lush take place on the shop floor and require a minimum of 8 guests.

For groups of less than 8, birthday parties also take place at Lush in Chermside Shopping Centre. At Chermside, parties during store hours have a minimum of 6 guests.

Lush is currently my kid’s top pick for birthday #10.

Strike and Holey Moley Wintergarden

There are plenty of choices for fun birthday party options inside Strike Wintergarden in Queens Street Mall. In addition to the Strike bowling alley, there are 9 holes of indoor miniature golf through Holey Moley. Each hole has a different theme.

Kids can also play laser tag at Strike. Parties can include as many activities as the host wishes to book.

Karaoke rooms are available at Strike Wintergarden and the karaoke rooms can be rented by the hour. Kids can stand on the stage and sing along to their favorite songs.

Strike / Holey Moley is another fun Brisbane birthday party venue for kids, tweens, and teens.

Holey Moley Fortitude Valley

While Holey Moley is a chain, each location is extremely unique. Known for their individually themed holes on their indoor putt-putt courses, the Holey Moley in Fortitude Valley has 18 holes on 2 floors of a building that used to be a church.

Kids are only welcome at Holey Moley in Fortitude Valley until 5 p.m., so book the party early in the day.

The Jungle Adventure Play

While playground parties are fun (and both of my kids have had their fair share), for those who want to keep the party indoors, The Jungle Adventure Play has a huge indoor playground for kids plus rock wall climbing, a ninja course, and a high ropes course.

All of the parties at The Jungle Adventure Play include a party room and a party host as well as food. Additional food and drinks and even an ice cream cake can be added to the party.

Party packages at The Jungle Adventure Play depend on the age of the children. There are options for kids 0-2 up to 12+.

Rock Sports

Kids can climb the walls at Rock Sports in Fortitude Valley. Birthday parties at Rock Sports include a party room for 2 hours and full-day access to the gym. Each guest also gets a free pass to return.

Food is not provided at Rock Sports, but party hosts can use their kitchenette.

Urban X-Treme

With 5 party options at Urban X-Treme there is definitely something for every adventurous kid.

All of the parties at Urban X-treme include a party host, a table with balloons, and socks for each guest. Catering options are available and the parents of the birthday child each get a drink.

The birthday parties at Urban X-treme are 1.5, 2, 2.5, or 3 hours long.

We attended a birthday party at Urban X-Treme and the kids were able to keep playing at the end of the party time.

Bounce

Let the kids jump out their energy at Bounce, a trampoline park in Tingalpa.

There are 3 types of parties at Bounce, based on age, from 2-12. Each party includes a party room, grip socks, an hour of activities, and a pass for the birthday kid to return.

Food is included at Bounce parties with additional food and party bags available to add on.

YMCA Bowen Hills

Parties get the entire gymnasium to themselves at a YMCA gymnastics party in Bowen Hills.

A table and chairs are provided outside of the gym and parents can decorate and serve food and cake. Inside the gym, there is a party host who supervises and leads games. If wanted, a bouncy house can be set up for the second half of the 2-hour gymnastics party.

I have hosted 3 birthday parties at YMCA Bowen Hills, in each of the gyms. My kids have been invited to multiple parties at YMCA Bowen Hills as well. The staff is helpful, and I do consider it to be an easy place to host a birthday party in Brisbane as they take over.

Parents are only in charge of feeding the kids during the 2 15-minute long breaks in the party.

Rose Soiree

1 UP Arcade has 2 options for party rooms at their Morningside arcade, plus an option to rent out the entire arcade.

Their party room is rented by the hour with a 2-hour minimum. Group ticket discounts apply for groups of 10+ or you can purchase their regular play card option. The VIP room has the same rules but is more secluded.

A party where the entire arcade is rented out includes free games the entire time.

A large arcade with a bowling alley has opened up on King Street in Bowen Hills right by the Brisbane Showgrounds.

Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq hosts Brisbane kids’ birthday parties at a few different budgets. All of the parties at Archie Bros include a meal with a side and drink, access to the party room, and party favors. The parties also include a party host and a gift for the birthday child.

With 3 options for kid’s parties at Archie Brothers, families can choose between an hour of arcade access, an hour of bowling, or both.

Additional food, party time, and even a cake can be ordered.

Hey Caddy

Parties at Come and Cook take place on specific Friday afternoons only. Menus can be chosen and can be vegetarian, gluten-free, sugar-free, or dairy-free.

The two parties that we attended at Tiddlywinks included the entire place being rented for the birthday party. Kids of all ages enjoyed both the indoor playground as well as the hosted discos that take place throughout the night.

iFLY, Chermside

Another fun option slightly outside of Brisbane is indoor skydiving at iFLY which can be done at Chermside Shopping Centre.

Guests have access to a party room with optional catering.

All of the equipment is included as is a private flying experience for your group.

The iFly party that my kids attended was a blast, though it was hard to be contained in the party room after such a fun experience.

Hijinx Hotel, Chermside

Chermside Shopping Centre has plenty of options and ideas for fun Brisbane birthday parties including Hijinx Hotel.

Hijinx Hotel requires a minimum of 10 to book a function, though not everyone can play in the same adventure room at a time.

Each group will play a set of 5 challenge rooms. An additional 5 challenge rooms can be added to the party.

Kid’s birthday parties at Hijinx Hotel include a party host as well as a meal and drinks. An ice cream cake and additional food and drinks can be added.

A minimum of 10 guests are needed and parties last 1.5 hours.

Three birthday party packages are available. They all include simulation hire, club hire, and soft drinks. Food options change with each party option. Two options include a medal for the winner.

Add-ons are available including an ice cream cake and miniature golf at Hey Caddy.

Plaster Fun House

Each party includes entry and skate hire as well as snacks, lollies, slushies, and meals, except the healthy fresh option includes a fruit platter, popcorn, water, and juice in addition to sushi or chicken/ham wraps.

Maybe we’ve just been lucky, but not one of our park parties or pool parties has been rained out. Either way, most of these locations have indoor space as well, just in case.

Victoria Park Bistro and Mini Golf

Victoria Park Bistro offers birthday party packages for kids all day long. Families can choose between breakfast, morning tea, lunch, or afternoon tea to celebrate the birthday child. Each party lasts for 2 hours in an undercover area and the kids are set up by the playground.

Riverlife

Each of the Street Science parties begins with a 30-minute show and then includes a 1-hour workshop where the kids make something that they can keep.
