When I lived in NYC, my friend Lizzy and I enjoyed meeting up for high tea. While unfortunately, many of the high tea locations I have been to or wanted to go to have since closed, there are still lots of amazing options for high tea in NYC.

Known for its high tea service, The Palm Court at The Plaza Hotel offers regular high tea service, a special children’s high tea, and special event high teas.
The traditional high tea service at The Plaza includes finger sandwiches, scones, and pastries, though there are different tiers of high tea to choose from.
Adults can choose from 3 different types of high tea, including the Grand Imperial Tea which costs $235 per person.
Drinks including champagne and wine can be added to each version of the high tea at The Plaza.
For kids, The Plaza has a very special Eloise-themed high tea that includes pink cotton candy and pink lemonade.

The French high tea at Baccarat Hotel is inspired by the children’s book The Little Prince and is curated by the Michelin star and James Beard-winning chef Gabriel Kreuther.
The Prince of Wales high tea includes a mix of savory and sweet items as well as scones. Kids can order the Petit Prince high tea service which is served with hot chocolate.
Whitby Hotel

The menu at Blue Box Cafe is French-inspired led by Michelin-starred chef Daniel Boulud. Vegetarian tea service and a gluten-free tea service are available upon request.

Wizard Afternoon Tea is an immersive experience that includes a magic wand, brewing 2 teas, and of course high tea.

If you prefer your tea to go, Alice’s Tea Cup has a pick-up location in Brooklyn Heights.

Wave Hill hosts many special events throughout the year for both adults and children. In December, they host a high tea which must be reserved in advance.

The Classic High Tea is only available at the Prospect Heights location. It includes a 75-minute long seating with unlimited black tea. Each guest gets 8 finger sandwiches, a scone with jam and clotted cream, and a plate of sweets.
Both locations offer the Grand Vanderbilt Tea. This includes a choice of bottomless tea, finger sandwiches, salad, a scone, and sweet bites. A vegetarian option is available.
The Grand Heights High Tea is also offered at both locations. The service is 90 minutes and also includes soup and a crumpet in addition to the items mentioned above.
Any of the high tea services at Brooklyn High Low can be made gluten-free.

The cost of high tea in NYC varies widely. You can enjoy high tea for as little as $30. The most expensive high tea includes an added drink such as champagne or a cocktail.
Some places in New York City welcome children for high tea and even have a special kid’s menu while at other places, kids under a certain age are not allowed.
This varies based on location. At some locations, high tea reservations are opened up 30 days in advance and need be be booked immediately.

You can’t go wrong in a simple dress or dress pants.
