Cheap High Tea in NYC: Under $40
While it is getting harder and harder to find a high tea option under $40 in New York City, there are still a couple of options to choose from.
Every time I edit this post, the prices increase, but that is to be expected, especially in 2026.
Prince Tea House
With 8 locations in New York City, including Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island, Prince Tea House offers an affordable high tea for just $35 for 1 person, and it gets even cheaper the more people you dine with.
You may be able to enjoy an afternoon high tea for almost $30 per person. Afternoon tea for 2 is $65, and it is $97.50 for 3.
This high tea is about as cheap as you can get in New York City, unless you plan on simply purchasing a tea and a few pastries at a bakery. Even then, you may spend more!
Each high tea at Prince Tea House includes mini sandwiches, scones, mini pastries, and tea.
King’s Carriage House
Located on the Upper East Side, King’s Carriage House offers high tea for just $29.95 a person, as long as you order high tea to go.
They also offer high tea and afternoon tea in-house, though the price is higher. High tea at King’s Carriage House is $49.95, while their Afternoon Tea, which includes an entree, is $59.95.
An afternoon tea box or a vegetarian afternoon tea box can be ordered in advance. Box boxes include sandwiches, scones, and tea cakes.
Vegetarian high tea is available, as is a gluten-free high tea with notice. They are working on a vegan high tea option.
Brooklyn High Low
It appears that you can get a $30 high tea at Brooklyn High Low on Fridays.
Seatings are just 45 minutes long, and the high tea includes finger sandwiches and a scone along with a pot of tea.
Cheap High Tea in NYC: Under $50
Alice’s Tea Cup

Alice’s Tea Cup has 2 locations in Manhattan, and both serve high tea starting at $50. If you order tea for 2, it is $46 per person.
Be sure to make a reservation as both locations tend to fill up fast. You can order sandwiches, scones, and pastries from their regular menu or opt for the high tea service.
Prosecco can be added to the high tea.
If you are looking for an even cheaper high tea experience, you can order the tea and scones for $23. This includes 2 scones and a teapot that includes 3 cups of tea.
Alice’s Tea Cup Chapter 1 is located on the Upper West Side and Chapter 2 is on the Upper East Side.
If you prefer to get your high tea to go, Alice’s Tea Cup has a to-go location in Brooklyn Heights.
American Girl Cafe
If you are looking to take the kids to high tea in New York City but don’t want to spend a fortune, the high tea at American Girl Cafe starts at $45.
Hours vary, so be sure to check their website to find the best time for high tea at American Girl Cafe.
Kids can bring their doll to tea, and the doll even has a special chair to sit in.

High Tea at American Girl Doll is recommended for those 3+ and lasts an hour. If you are visiting around the holidays, they have a special holiday high tea for the same price.
