7 Day Loop Around Tasmania Itinerary with Kids, the Short Version
Are you planning a 7-day loop around Tasmania with kids and want an itinerary?
If you like details and pictures, check out our full version of A Quick Loop Around Tasmania with Kids.
For those who prefer to just see locations, this is for you.
We flew into Hobart and out of Launceston, so we had to adjust the loop a little bit and backtrack. Our flight arrived in Hobart around 1 pm, and we left Launceston around 4 pm.
While of course, it would be nice to have longer in Tasmania, we basically had a week and wanted to see as much as possible. I am amazed that we were able to (basically) complete a loop of Tasmania in a week.
My husband and I had been to Tasmania, but it had been a decade. This was the kids’ first visit. Last time, we went to Hobart, Launceston, and Freycinet National Park.
My family wakes up early, and we generally get up and go. We try to get to our hotel by dinner/dark. This trip took place in the first week of September, which is spring in Tasmania.
Note on the hotels-We stayed at basic hotels. With the exception of the last night, they each had multiple bedrooms. Many included a living area and kitchen.
Note on the drives: We usually drove the longest distances in the afternoon when it rained. It rained most afternoons. We did break up the drives as much as possible. There was only one day when the kids used their tablets in the car. Otherwise, they were happy to look out the window, see all of the farm animals, and work on their activity books.
