Kiss Motorbike Food Tour Ho Chi Minh City with Kids
If you are looking to take a motorbike tour or a food tour in Ho Chi Minh City, I highly recommend checking out the Saigon Kiss Motorbike Tours.
My family booked a last-minute tour on our last day in Vietnam, and it is one of the top things we did on our 3-week holiday.
After taking a motorbike tour the day before in Hue, we flew to Ho Chi Minh City in the morning, with no plans for our last day in Vietnam. Both kids, 9 and 10 at the time, begged to take another motorbike tour.
Thankfully, Saigon Kiss Motorbike Tours had space for us, and we signed up for an evening food tour.

Booking a Motorbike Tour with Kiss Tours

Kiss Tours offers 5 different motorbike tours in Ho Chi Minh City. I tried to sign up for their Kiss City Tour, but as it was the same day, I wasn’t able to.
They told me that there was space available on that evening’s food tour, so we booked it instead.
The 5 tours that Kiss Tours offer are:
- Kiss City Tour, a 3.5-hour-long tour held twice daily
- Kiss Michelin Food Tour, a 4.5-hour-long tour held each evening
- The Kiss Food Tour, a 4-hour-long tour held each evening
- Kiss Saigon By Night, a 3.5-hour-long tour held each evening
- Kiss Vegan Food Tour, a 4-hour-long tour held each evening
I contacted Kiss Tours through WhatsApp after filling out the contact form on their website. If you book ahead of time, you can book through their website. We booked the same day of the tour.
Private tours and tours outside of their general timeslots can be arranged with notice.
Hotel Pickup + The First Stop

We were picked up right outside our hotel by 4 women on motorbikes. All of the drivers at Kiss Tours are female, which my daughter loved.
They picked us up and drove us to our first stop, where we met the rest of our group. My kids were the only kids on the tour, which was not a surprise. There was also a man traveling alone for work, and 3 women traveling together.
We sat in a private space in a restaurant and ate crab noodle soup. Iced tea was offered along with our meal.
I had mentioned that I don’t eat pork, beef, or prawns. I was offered vegetable soup with noodles in place of the crab soup.
Flower Market

After enjoying a bowl of soup, we hopped back on the back of the motorbikes and headed to the flower market.
Here, we were each given a lotus flower. We learned about the lotus flower, its significance, and how to fold it properly.
Riding Motorbikes at Night in Ho Chi Minh City

As you can see, I got a lot braver and took photos on this motorbike tour. I didn’t take many on our motorbike tour in Hue, just the day before.
Ho Chi Minh City is crowded. There are estimated to be 3.5 million people living in HCMC, with about 10 million living in the surrounding area.
Many people in Ho Chi Minh City have a motorbike. Out of every 1,000 people, there are about 700 registered motorbikes.
My kids had a hard time in Bangkok due to the traffic, and we knew they wouldn’t like walking in HCMC. Going on a motorbike tour was perfect as it allowed us to see a lot of the city without having to walk across any streets.
While you would think that riding on the back of a motorbike in such a large city and going around massive roundabouts would be terrifying, we all absolutely loved it. The drivers were safe.
Adding in being out at night, especially on our last night of a 3-week holiday, taking a motorbike food tour was the best thing we could do.
Vietnamese Snacks

At the 3rd stop on our motorbike food tour, we sat at a long table at a restaurant, and the drivers joined us.
In addition to the savory Vietnamese pancakes, which we had tried several times during our holiday, we were served a few other snacks.
Every time we had ordered the banh xeo, the pancake, it had come with a basket of leaves and herbs. The drivers explained what each green item was and had us try them individually before wrapping them around a piece of pancake.
This is when I realized that there was one item I really did not like. I had just kept putting random items in my food, not realizing what each item was.
The drivers took this time to eat a bit and also to chat with the guests. We had plenty of food, way too much even for all of us to finish. Drinks were offered as well.
Saigon at Night

We rode to the river to see the buildings lit up and to learn a bit more about the different areas in Ho Chi Minh City.
Our guide told us the difference between Ho Chi Minh City and Saigon and about the different districts. The tour goes through 5 different districts.
Last Stop, Seafood and Beer

Before we knew it, we were at the last stop of the night. After sitting down with the drivers at a long table outside a restaurant, we enjoyed a lot of different seafood dishes. We even got to try snails!
We learned on the food tour in Hanoi that the food in Vietnam is French-influenced. I did not realize on our last trip to Vietnam that snails are popular, but I even tried them this time.
In addition to snails, we tried oysters, scallops, octopus, and morning glory.
Adults were offered a beer at this stop, and kids (or adults) could have a soda.

The food came out sporadically, and we weren’t sure how many items would be offered. There seemed to be a never-ending supply!
Eventually, we were offered a traditional Vietnamese dessert.

The rest of our group continued to enjoy the food and drinks, but as soon as dessert was served, our family opted to get a ride back to the hotel.
We learned during our holiday that Vietnam stays open late. It was after 9, but the streets were crowded, and many shops and restaurants were still open.
Kiss Motorbike Food Tour Wrap-Up

If you are on the fence about taking a Kiss Motorbike Tour, do it. My family found it to be a highlight of our time in Asia.
We found that the food offered was a lot different than what we think of as traditional Vietnamese food, which was great! After spending a couple of weeks in Vietnam, we had tried the foods we knew of and the food we had heard about. I never would have tried snails on my own.
Riding on the back of a motorbike in a city as crowded as Ho Chi Minh is not something I ever thought I wanted to do, but I would do it again tomorrow. Being out at night, zipping through the city, was so much fun.
One of my kids tried everything, and the other did not, but we all had enough to eat.
I know if we go back to HCMC, we will check out one of the other tours that Kiss Tours offers.
