Where are the kid-friendly restaurants in and around Clearwater?
I have never been the parent who remembers to bring toys out to dinner, so it helps when restaurants have ways to entertain my kids. My kids prefer playgrounds and play areas, which means that is what I prefer too.
Luckily for us, there are some great options for kid-friendly restaurants in and around Clearwater.
While there are plenty more kid-friendly restaurants near Clearwater, this list only includes restaurants that have playrooms, playgrounds, game rooms, or something for kids to keep busy while waiting for their meals.

Kid-Friendly Restaurants in Clearwater
JR’s Sports Pub
Kids can play in the bounce house, on the fenced-in lawn area, or inside in the arcade or the sensory room at JR’s Sports Pub in Clearwater.
JR’s kids’ menu has basic pub food, including chicken tenders, hot dogs, and grilled cheese.
Joe’s Crab Shack
Restaurants with playgrounds just make sense, and Joe’s Crab Shack has a playground outside for the kids to play on while they wait for their meals.
Joe’s Crab Shack has a large kids’ menu with the usual favorites of mac and cheese, chicken tenders, and pizza, plus other options such as grilled and popcorn shrimp, snow crab, and a kids-sized steam pot filled with crab, sausage, shrimp, and corn on the cob. All kids’ meals at Joe’s Crab Shack come with a drink and ice cream.
Varsity Club
With a game room filled with arcade games, kids will love the Varsity Club. This sports bar has lots of TVs for sports lovers and kids who want to watch TV.
The menu at Varsity Club is what you expect from a sports bar, but they have lots of salad and wrap options as well.
There is another Varsity Club nearby in Palm Harbor.
Cici’s Pizza
All-you-can-eat pizza, pasta, salad, and a large game room filled with arcade games? Sounds like the perfect kid-friendly restaurant for those who want to go out to dinner in Clearwater.
While it is a buffet, everyone has their own serving utensils.
Cici’s Pizza also has desserts at its all-you-can-eat buffet, such as brownies and cinnamon rolls.
Chuck E. Cheese
It may seem obvious, but Chuck E. Cheese has both a restaurant and a very large game area. Chuck E. Cheese is a great place to go with a large group of kids.
The menu at Chuck E. Cheese’s focuses on pizza. Check their website for special deals before you go.
For those who want to let the kids play but don’t want to eat at Chuck E. Cheese, Green Mint is in the same shopping plaza, and our kids love their food. Send one adult down to order early, and the kids can play until their meals arrive.
Bay Care Ballpark
Head to the ballpark for an incredibly kid-friendly meal. Bay Care Ballpark has lots more than just minor league baseball and the standard hot dogs, peanuts, and popcorn.
Families can sit in the berm, which is the grassy area in the outfield. The entire space is available for picnics, either at a picnic table at the top of the berm or on the grass by the field.
In addition to playing in the berm, there is a playground at Bay Care Ballpark. There are games near the playground for older kids to participate in.
Restaurant options change depending on the night, but there are always kid-friendly meal options at Bay Care Ballpark.
The Long Center Playground is a great place for a picnic. The playground is fenced in, there are tables under a shelter, and the lights come on when it gets dark so kids can even play at night. There are bathrooms available at the Long Center Playground.

Most of these options don’t have a separate space for kids to play, but they are right on the beach, and the kids can play in the sand while they wait. Generally, the restaurants on Clearwater Beach are casual and kid-friendly.
Tate Island Grill

The Sand Pearl Resort has multiple restaurants, and Tate Island Grill is their poolside cafe. The tables are right next to the sand, which means that kids can play in the sand while they wait.
The kid’s menu includes sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, and chicken fingers, while the main menu focuses on seafood as well as wraps, sandwiches, burgers, salads, and a large cocktail list.
Live music is often played at Tate Island Grill. Check the Sand Pearl’s website for the current schedule and the time of the sunset each night.
Frenchy’s Rockaway Grill

Frenchy’s is a popular local chain in Clearwater, with 4 locations on Clearwater Beach. Frenchy’s Rockaway Grill is the only Frenchy’s location right on the beach.
The wait time can get long at Frenchy’s Clearwater, but the kids are usually happy playing in the sand while they wait for a table.
Seafood is popular at Frenchy’s Rockaway, and the kids’ meal even has an option for grouper nuggets and fried shrimp as well as mac and cheese, chicken tenders, and a cheeseburger.
Palm Pavilion

Across the parking lot from Frenchy’s Rockaway Grill is the Palm Pavilion. Like Frenchy’s, it is on the sand so kids can play while they wait.
The kids’ menu at Palm Pavilion includes chicken tenders, burgers, and PB and J, as well as fish sticks and other kid-friendly items.
Most days, there is live music at Palm Pavilion, and the schedule can be seen on their website, as well as the time of sunset for that night.
Tommy’s Tiki Sand Bar
Located directly in the sand behind the Hilton Hotel is Tommy’s Tiki Sand Bar.
Kids’ meals at Tommy’s Tiki Sand Bar are served in a sand bucket. Meal options include sandwiches, chicken tenders, and hot dogs.
Barefoot Beach House
Enjoy your meal in the sand at Barefoot Beach House. The menu is mainly quick-serve items and consists of burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders, and even a grilled grouper sandwich. Snack, drinks, and desserts are available at Barefoot Beach House.
Pier 60 Concessions

There is a concession stand by Pier 60 for quick meals. Pier 60 also has a playground, and there is entertainment at Pier 60 each evening (depending on the weather).

Kid-Friendly Restaurants in Dunedin
Eddie’s Bar and Grill
Kids love to play in the game room at Eddie’s Bar and Grill. Eddie’s calls themselves “Dunedin’s only family sports bar,” which means they are definitely kid-friendly.
The menu is filled with kid favorites, which come with a drink.
HOB Brewing Co
There is a large fenced-in outdoor space at HOB Brewing Co, perfect for kids to play in.
Food options vary with changing food trucks, with Corvo Bianco Pizza often available.
Cafe Honeymoon and South Beach Pavilion Cafe

Honeymoon Island has a gorgeous beach and beautiful nature trails. It also has two kid-friendly restaurants. Cafe Honeymoon is open daily, while South Beach Pavilion Cafe is open on the weekends.
Their menus include burgers, sandwiches, and chicken tenders. A pancake breakfast is offered on the weekends.
The cafes are close to the beach, so kids can play in the sand before and after their meals on Honeymoon Island.
Kid-Friendly Restaurants in Safety Harbor
While many of the restaurants in Safety Harbor have kid-friendly menus, they don’t have anywhere for the kids to play. Solve that by getting your food to go and taking it to the Gazebo in John Wilson Park or by sitting at a shelter and letting the kids play at the playground in City Park.
Gigglewaters

Part restaurant, part movie theatre, all fun. Kids are welcome to eat in the main dining room at Gigglewaters, but it’s more fun to enjoy your meal in the movie theatre! A full menu is available in the theatre.
The kid’s menu at Gigglewaters consists of elevated kid favorites, and all kids’ meals include a side and a drink.
Café Vino Tinto

Kids can play board games while waiting for the delicious waffles at Cafe Vino Tinto.
Whether you try one of their holiday specials or one of the standard waffles, they are all delicious, as are the coffee, specialty drinks, and other menu items.
Bassano Cheesecake

Of course, pizza is kid-friendly, and the pizza at Nona’s in Safety Harbor is delicious. Plus, they offer kids pizza dough to shape and play with while they wait for their meal.
Nona specializes in both New York-style and Detroit-style pizza. They also serve sandwiches, salads, apps, and desserts.
Kid-Friendly Restaurants in Palm Harbor
Ozona Blue Grilling Co
Not only is Ozona Blue Grilling Co on the water, but they have a pool and hot tub that are open for the use of diners. Families can swim before they eat!
Kids’ meals come with a drink and ice cream. Kids can choose between seafood options, chicken nuggets, and pasta.
Ozona Pizza
Kids (and adults) can play old-fashioned video games at their table while waiting for the pizza to arrive at Ozona Pizza.

Little Brew Play Cafe
A coffee shop with a play space for kids under 6, the Little Brew Play Cafe has free play in its indoor space and workshops as well. There is a charge per kid to enter Little Brew Play Cafe.
