The Cube at QUT
Inside the Science and Engineering Center at the Gardens Point campus of Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is a free exhibit that is perfect for all ages.
The Cube has 48 multi-touch screens, making it one of the world’s largest interactive digital learning experiences.
On Campus Outside of the Cube

Outside of the elevator from the parking garage, there is a piano that anyone can play.
The campus was quiet as it was a Sunday on our visit to the Cube, and the kids were happy to sit down and play.
They do not know how to play the piano, but that doesn’t stop them. They would have stayed an hour if we had let them.
There are plenty of places to eat on campus as well, but they were closed as it was Sunday.
Inside the Cube
The Cube has 5 screens throughout the building. The themes change, and you can find out what they will be on a given day here.
When we arrived, the first screen was “The Living Reef.”
The cube is for all ages, and plenty of adults were enjoying it as much as the children. You are able to use the touch screen to find out more information and to interact with sea life. The screen is constantly changing.

Our kids didn’t even realize that there was more to do until we told them.
They were happily interacting with the sea life.
Turning the corner, there is an exhibit on dinosaurs called “Dino Zoo.” Dino Zoo includes digital activities like an archaeological dig simulator and an interactive Earth timeline.

Further in the Cube at QUT
After the kids had finished with the dinosaur screens, they weren’t interested in the other screens.
They wanted to run around and check out the space.
There are tables with outlets and plenty of chairs. There are many computers, and since it was a weekend, there wasn’t anyone using them.
The CUBE is 2 stories with plenty of space to walk around.
The 5th screen was on the 2nd floor. It wasn’t working, but it looks like something they would enjoy next time.
The screens are part of the Retro Arcade, and a few options that change.
We saw the Track Stars exhibit, where 4 players can race.

What Will Be on the Screens When I Visit The Cube?
